Jordan Valley Oregon is also worth a call our. The area still has basque sheep herding families and a pelota fronton.

In mid May they have the big loop rodeo. This is a much more old west rodeo than you will find anywhere else. Big loop roping is astonishing to see (the idea is to make a loop big enough to rope the entire horse and bring it to a stop.
